Local administration Chilas removing paints from the historical rock carvings

District administration of Diamer in Gilgit-Baltistan took action against painting rocks having centuries-old rock carvings by unknown individuals/groups. The local administration is seen removing paints from the historical rock carvings and petroglyphs etched on both banks of the river Indus.

Ali Ahmed Jan, a vocal activist from Gilgit-Baltistan applauded the efforts from local administration to preserve the GB’s heritage. Mountains Online along with other local activists had raised voices against such illegal acts.
