Sun halo sparked fear and concern among the residents of Gojal and Diamer on Friday amid COVID-19

Sun halo got attention of residents in Gojal and Diamer on Friday. Amid of COVID-19 panic, people referred it to a sign of another disaster on it’s way. Some believed that God is not happy with us all. There were individuals who have expressed that this is part of nature’s overhauling processes of the earth.
But in fact a Sun halo is caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22° angle, creating a circular halo around the Sun.
