CM Gilgit-Baltistan tasked agriculture and livestock department make sure timely supply of seasonal fruits in the market

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan has advised the agriculture and livestock department to appoint agriculture focal persons in every district on immediate basis. These focal persons are tasked to coordinate with fruit growers in order to make sure timely supply of seasonal fruits in the market.

Agriculture department is also advised to prepare post COVID-19 strategy. He advised to fully concentrate on agriculture, dairy and poultry sector in order to minimise the economic loss during the COVID-19 pandemic.

CM GB asked the departments to encourage and fully facilitate local farmers. Random COVID-19 testing are being conducted in the densely poplulated areas of Gilgit. The trend/results will help us to make decision on further lockdown. In case there is 100% negative results from the random tests then we will ban entrance in the city where as the city will be opened for normal activities.
