Election Commission Gilgit Baltistan sized all policy related powers of the government of Gilgit-Baltistan

Election Commission Gilgit Baltistan through a notification sized all policy related powers of the government of Gilgit-Baltistan in order to conduct free and fair elections of the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly in the coming months.

According to election act 2017, no development scheme, community-based initiatives, announcements based projects tender, award and issuance is allowed till next election. No posting/transfer of government officers/officials shall be made except in case of public interest. Diversion of funds already allocated to various development projects is banned and spending of fund stands frozen.

No government functionaries or elected representatives shall announce and/or inaugurate development scheme
