Senior PPP leader Bahadur Khan from Hunza breadth his last in hometown

Senior PPP leader Bahadur Khan from Hunza inspired by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto breathed his last in hometown Sirtiz Gircha subdivision Gojal. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Mr. Bilawal Bhutto paid tribute to the senior leader and his contributions. Bilwal extended condolence to all family members.
A short glimpse of a long road: His life and struggle;
Born in 1932 in one of the oldest and historic village Sirtiz Gircha subdivision Gojal in district Hunza of Gilgit-Baltistan. Completed his primary education from D.J. Primary School Gulmit in 1950s. His classmates were including Mr. Mutabiat Shah – ex technocrat GBLA. In 1960s he went to Karachi for further studies and livelihood.
He worked as a labor beside education and contributed in the welfare of Gojali students in Karachi. He was among the very few individuals who have initiated movement against the then autocratic ruler in Hunza and stood strong against all repressions and exploitations. He was one of the strong and powerful voices during Hunza-Nagar Liberation Movement in upper Gojal. In 1974 this purely labor class movement successfully abolished the Sate of Hunza and its repressive regime with the help of Prime Minister Bhutto. He was among the pioneers who have established Pakistan Peoples Party in Hunza Gojal.
Under his leadership, KVO set new milestones of unity and progress in the poverty stricken and neglected region (upper Gojal). Some of the recorded success stories sustained until now are; a vibrant village organization called Khunjerav Village Organization. Established female hostels, credit society and successfully advocated for the rights and development needs of his constituency with government and non-governmental organizations. Played important role in establishing Silk Route Dry Port Trust, DJ school Nazimabad, and many others. His integrity and dedication has never been questioned and he remained committed to the cause of raising voice for injustices and marginalization.
